A New and Wonderful Book

I'm thrilled to announce a brand new project I'll be working on in between my Riley books with the illustrious Kieron Pratt.

I have long worshipped and adored the work of the Brisbane-based Tina Snerling - artist, crafter, designer extraordinaire. Her work at Tiny Concept is something to become enraptured by and swoon over.

When I first talked with this talented artist about the possibility of working on a book together, I was thrilled to learn that illustrating children's books is a long-held dream of Tina's.

Upon showing her one of my most precious and long-desired book ideas, I was ecstatic how inspired she became by its content - sending me the above test picture for 'approval'. I approved it, alright.

And so begins my wonderful association with Tina Snerling and the glorious book-about-to-be.

Stay tuned.

A Beautiful Day at MOCCA Fair

A beautiful day at MOCCA market with my books - Manuka Childcare Centre hold a wonderful fair, fete and stalls, and it's such a lovely excuse for kiddies from the Centre to come along and enjoy some sunshine, some fun rides and even a petting zoo.
It was fantastic to see the kids excited about my new book. I'll be going back to read it to them in the new year.

Author Visits

Tania is available to talk to your school or club about self-publishing and writing children's books. She also loves to visit schools to read her Riley travelogue series to children.

For children aged 6 and older, Tania can also do a powerpoint presentation on story writing and creating/publishing books.

Tania was a Children's Book Council of Australia visiting author during ACT Book Week 2009 and 2010 and in 2009 completed a highly successful Writer in Residence Programme at a primary school in Canberra. She is a highly experienced speaker and presenter.

Please make contact here if you would like to organise a visit.

For visit requirements, please click here.

Tania has Public Liability Insurance for A$10 million.

Author Visit Requirements

When visiting your school or organisation, the following would be warmly appreciated:
  • Clear indication and confirmation of dates and session times, well in advance
  • School address, parking advice and clear directions to the front office/venue
  • School’s phone number and mobile contact in case of emergency
  • Readings spaced as closely together as possible (no breaks in between), with the final session finishing by 2.30pm at the latest
  • The children’s ages and number of students attending
  • A smartboard setup in one space, if at all possible, so I’m not required to move between sessions
  • Someone on hand with technical knowledge to ensure smartboard setup doesn’t go awry (this problem occurs around 80% of the time)
  • If there is to be a book signing, an approximate required amount of books, in advance
  • A glass of water and a cup of tea would be lovely!

I bring a USB stick and laptop with me and arrive 15-20 minutes before presentation to set up.

Please email for current charges. I have a 2-reading minimum and a fee discount if a book signing is organised. My charges are current with ASA recommendations.

I have public liability insurance to $10 million.
